Buff UV Half

Disclaimer: I received a UV BUFF Half to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

So what is a BUFF?  And what is the Half BUFF?  Simply put, it’s a tubular headwear that can be morphed into a dozen or so ways to wear it!  The full BUFF is 20.8″ h x 9.75″ w while the Half BUFF is half of that so it’s cool in the summer!

The UV Half BUFF is a shorter version of the original headwear BUFF (See my review of the full) that still has all of the functions and features without being too big and bulky.  The shorter version also fits well underneath baseball hats or helmets for sweat wicking.  It falls under the Headband section and that’s pretty much how I wore mine throughout the testing period.  If you know me well, then you’ve probably never seen me without a baseball hat unless I’m at a wedding or funeral!  I’ve destroyed many of my hats while wearing them running, biking, fishing, climbing, or anything else I do outdoors.  I wear them until they fall off and then get a new one.  I have plenty of hats that I just can’t wear because of the sweat rings in them.  This is where the BUFF UV Half comes in.  First off, I love that I can wear it as a headband if I fold it just right.  It’s comfortable and colorful and keeps the sweat out of my eyes when I was running.  Besides having UV protection to keep the sun’s harmful rays off of my forehead and exposed skin, the BUFF cleans easily due to the Coolmax® Extreme polyester fabric.

I’ve really become a fan of the lightweight fabric and versatility of the BUFF UV Half.  I like that I can fold it and wear it as a headband or wrap it around my neck if I’m out on a long bike ride and not have to worry about burning my skin.  I’ve even used it on duty and worn it under my fire helmet for training days where I’d normally sweat like crazy!  The color choices like other BUFFs is vast and there are a ton of fun styles for every lifestyle.  This one was called the Pellagic Camo.  The photos below are a few of my runs and other activities in which I wore the BUFF.
